OK, so please check for Gunter Viertel as first this unit from which was also KIA following soldier:
ABRATIS, Herbert (Herbert-Karl). (DOB: 21.03.18 in Babienten/E Prussia) see:
http://pomorze1945.com/?co=213&strona=karta&nr=9699&lang=DE
- commander of FJ Regiment 27 and next Rgt 26 and Rgt 25:
Could be also in this units:
http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...ionen/9FJD.htm
Fallschirm-Jäger-Regiment 27
Aufgestellt im Februar
1945 im Raum Stettin, aus dem Fallschirm-Panzerjagd-Bataillon 51, dem Fallschirm-Panzerjagd-Bataillon 53 und dem Fallschirm-Panzerjagd-Bataillon 54. Das Regiment unterstand der 9. Fallschirmjäger-Division.
Fallschirm-Jäger-Regiment 25
Das Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 25 wurde am
Fallschirmjäger-Division.
I think Gunter Viertel could be fresh member of this units. FJ9 had a lot of soldiers from other Luftwaffe formation in 1945 around Stettin and Altdamm.
As I know plate with Gunter Viertel data was found in Buchheide in Altdamm-Stettin or Neu Rosengarten / Rosengarten (Kijewko/Kijewo).
data with all KIA soldiers from Falschirm Jager Division 9 - Rgt.27 , Rgt.26 , Rgt25.
Some fresh attached soldiers FJ9 Rgt27,Rgt26,Rgt25 in this area had Eckermarke numers like for example this one: 4/Fl.Ausb.Rgt 61 ( , .... - fresh fligers Luftwaffe serving on the end of war in FJ units.
4/Fl.Ausb.Rgt 61:

I think Gunter Viertel for 70% was from this units. KIA the same position for FJ9 like other soldiers on Neu Rosengarten - lets try to find him.
His plate found on this area:

So
"'green'' name of units on DRK bild listen , ... + also 4./Fl.Ausb.Rgt61
Geschrieben von Peavey am 25.11.2012 um 15:53:
Hello !
This soldier seems to be registered during the war, as KIA not as MIA.
( Keywoard "Grave Plate" )
The "Vermisstenbildliste" only contains soldiers which were still missed in 1950.
So, as expected there is no entry for Viertel with FJRgt 25, 26 or 26.
And there is no entry for the FlAubRgt 61 at all !
Best regards
Bernhard

Hallo,
Thanks for support - I think you have right - I expect similar answer
For me this soldier also look fresh in this unit because FJ9 get some new people
(Formed 2.45 in the Stettin area) on the beggining of 1945 to FJ9 units on Pommern near Stettin.
How we can check now this soldier ?
I know place in Bucheide (near Stettin) where was found this grave plate with his data
but localisation of grave is on the area of ca. 50m2 - I think so not easy but possible.
The best solution could be to find veterans from FJ9 - Rgt.27 but they still alive ? Here is a problem.
By the way on the one web side I have found information about one interesting case:
Look here is Soldbuch which belong to soldier from FJ9 Rgt.27:
His name:
Norbert Cech (or Zech) which was born: 24.04.1921
http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=191336&highlight=Altdamm
but his familly name was corrected on one page from Soldbuch on Zech.
On the web side POMORZE1945 exist similar familly name but:
Georg Zech , geb. 23.01.1923
http://pomorze1945.com/?co=213&strona=karta&nr=15159&lang=DE
Georg Zech (the same: familly name , regiment FJ9 , 27 Rgt , and also unteroffizer !!! )
is it his brother ?! (2 years difference- could be?)
One of them survived II WW ? How get to the Berlin archive his Soldbuch ? It is verey interesting situation.
Both or one of them was soldier which fought on Pommern in March 1945 the same area.
If one of them still alive we have ability to try contact and ask about Gunter Viertel ( I think fresh member of Rgt.27).

Small correction:
Norbert Cech (Zech) and Georg Zech - both from II./Falschirm-Jager-Rgt.26
but could be the same unit our Gunter Viertel. His grave plate was found on the position of FJ9 soldiers in the Bucheide (Altdamm-Stettin , Rosengarten).
