  kriegsmarine soldat

hallo,
for the second time in 2008 the body of a German soldier was found near Brest...he was found in December 2008
Again , it was a kriegsmarine soldier, but Unfortunatly, no dog tag was found with him.
Body and personal effect are with German authorithy.
There is few chance to identify this soldier...

Hallo Werner,

Dear Herlé !

Nice to hear from you again. Why do you think that there is a little chance to identify him ?

Best regards
Bernhard

Hallo Werner und Bernhard,

it will be difficult to identify the soldier, because there is few things wich can help to identify him. The soldier was certainly hit during a bomb raid. He was found near a Flak battery of MaFla 231. here is an Aerial picture of the site, the circle show the place where the body was found (sorry in french, made for french authority)

The body was not complete

a canteen with "P.R" graved was found not far from the body.
Werner, about your Uncle, let's hope, we will made an article in the local newspaper to tell the people what to do (they are still afraid about bodies) and who contact, with the help of French and German authority...hope we will have good contact and found MIA...

Herlé

Dear Herlé !

Thank you for the additional informations.

Do you know whether the battery was the 1. or 2. of MaFla 231 ?

I´ve a got a guy in my books who lived in the CSR before war and is missed by 9/44 in the area of brest.
His surname starts with a "P", his christian name with a "R".

I´m just going to send you an e-mail with the details.

Please keep in touch.

Best regards
Bernhard

Hallo Herlé,
hallo Bernhard,

thanks for your engagement. I Know, it's very difficult, to find a body of a Soldier from a III. MaFlaBrigade. I know the EKM from my uncle: von Bernhard Adrian lautet
N 4026/40 K
Perhaps it could be possible to find him near Plouvien or it gives a note by Ploudaniel-Lesneven cemetery of soldier.

best regards
Werner

thanks Werner for this Information about your uncle, i'll ask all the "collector" and "detectorist" of the area about Erkm found near Plouvien...
It is also possible to ask Volskbund about the number of bodies found around Plouvien, the place they where found, and normally each bodie have a file with size of the bones, personnal effects....
