ich suche Fotos vom Gefallenenfriedhof in Brin, ca. 20 km östlich von Jelnja - also nicht so weit weg von Dorogobusch. Hast Du da was?

"..Auch im Zweiten Weltkrieg war Jelnja Schauplatz bedeutender Kämpfe. Am 30. August 1941 startete hier die Offensive von Jelnja im Rahmen der Kesselschlacht bei Smolensk, die erste erfolgreiche Gegenoffensive der Roten Armee. Wegen der danach erfolgten erstmaligen Auszeichnung von vier Einheiten der Roten Armee mit dem Titel „Garde“ gilt Jelnja als „Geburtsort der Sowjetischen Garde“. Die Umgebung der Stadt befand sich in Folge unter relativ fester Kontrolle von Partisaneneinheiten der Dorogobuscher Partisanenregion, die im März 1942 auch die Stadt selbst für drei Tage besetzen konnten. 1943 spielte Jelnja eine Schlüsselrolle bei der Gegenoffensive der Roten Armee in Folge der Schlacht am Kursker Bogen. Stufe ausgezeichnet. .."

Looks that Brin' is/was total village/dorf in the Russia - maybe was wooden and present not exist (burned during II WW) ?
I could not find this on the map and check orginal Russian name of Brin
Only this with photos of meadows & fields.

yes, the photo of the street to Brin is taken in 2009 from me. I've visited the cemetary in 2009. The village nowadays doesn't exist. I'm searching for photos of the cemetary in the year 1943. Thanks a lot for your efforts,

So do you think that link to photo of German soldiers cmentary is just from Brin ?

Maybe WaSt or DRK can compare one of soldiers name from photo with soldiers list of KIA and inform where it was done ?

no, I don't think that your photo is from Brin, but i'm natuarally not sure. To compare your photo with the photo of my grandfathers grave in Brin have a look at the attached photo. I think, these are different cemetaries.
