Schutze: Stanislaus Zeglarek - MIA in East - probably Russia.

Bavaria
Hi Kris,

I didn't notice so far, that he was Schütze. This was the lowest rank in the Wehrmacht. That means he probably has been only for a few weeks soldier because after three months he would have been advanced to Gefreiter.
Kris
So on base this information uncle Stanislaus Zeglarek probably was born in 1918 and could KIA in 1941 . But it seems to me.
I will back probably with more information/doc. after December 2011 but I can not promise if we will find something more - we will try of course.

Moin Marion,

not at the best! Usually, under normal circumstances, a Wehrmachtssoldat only after 12 months could (not: would) have been advanced to Gefreiter. Generally, the Wehrmacht didn't know any "automatic" advancement system after a certain time of service. A soldier had to earn his rank. So there were countless Soldaten who after 6 years of service never had been advanced and still were Schütze, Matrose or Flieger at the end of WW II ...

Also, in between there was the rank of Obersoldat, Oberschütze, and so on.
Kris
Dear German Friends - I trying to help for You because history of Pommeren in 1945 is also my hobby but I'm sure that You also help for me to find uncle Stanislaus Zeglarek or get more information about him for next searching in WaSt.
As I promissed , I will try to get more details or documents from my side about grandperents, father and uncle.

Kris
Some information have found on the web side probably should be Glinitz/Gleinitz instead of Gryfnitz ??? :

10.08-1875 9 Glinitz (Gleinitz ??? ) Haselquell Glinitz
Ww. Marianna Zeglarek
1838
Kochezitz
Andreas Dubiel
Josepha ?
What mean Ww. - could be this information about my grandmother (geb. Nocula) ?
As I will get date when was born my grandmother we will compare it.

http://list.genealogy.net/mm/archiv/schl...9/msg00857.html

Map of Glinica (Glinitz) - (Oberschlesien - Dolny Zlsk) :
http://atrakcje-dolnego-slaska.pl.tl/%26...22%3Bog%F3w.htm
http://wroclaw.hydral.com.pl/test.php?miasto=231
Above information we are not 100% sure. It seems to me that grandfateher and grandmother could be from the same village. Probably Gryfnitz and information about Berlin area are wrong. As I said before familly was Auslanders.
Probably after this week we will have date of born both parents: Stanislaus and Marianna ( Maria / geb. Nocula) Zeglarek/Ceglarek.
I will back with information about grandparents for more documents about my father Bruno (BronisBaw) I must wait- we must check in Mysliborz (Soldin) Archive.
Kris

Probably it can be true that my uncle could be KIA arraund Stalingrad area.
See:

"...Die deutsche Offensive bei Kursk-Charkow Linie im Juni 1942. Die Armee des Generals von Paulus befohlen kam Fridericha bei Stalingrad (heute Wolgograd). ..."

and probably this can agree with obituary date: Juni 1942.

As I have written above I must get date of birth my uncle - please help in contact with German:
Standesamt Hohenwulsch

Standesamt Schorstedt
Kreis: Stendal
