Ich suche meine grossvater (Heinrich)Gerhard Haack.

He was a Luftwaffe soldier during the second WorldWar.
I was told he could be at the 19.Flakbrigade, maybe flakreg.8 or 111.
At some time in 1944 he must have been in Holland, because my father was born on 18 march 1945!

That is the problem, I don't know the date of his birth!
The year could be 1924, because he was the same age like my grandmother.
But my grandmother never told any one, not even my father about Heinrich Gerhard Haack.
His name is the only thing I know and I got his picture just recently.
It is a wel kept secret in the family.
Some old story, tells me my grandfather came just over the border of Holland, Limburg.
But I don't know if that is correct.
WASt, Volksbund, and even the German Red Cross, could not find him, yes indeed, the date of birth is very important.

My grandfather did write letters, but the parents of my grandmother kept them behind so my grandmother felt left alone, and never spoke about Gerhard Haack again, and never told my father who is father was.
So I believe Gerhard Haack never knew he had a son!
No, my grandmother and father are both dead now.
The photo came up, years ago, when my fathers grandfather died.(he had hidden the photo)
Everything I know is what others told me.
It is not much I know, but this is the only thing I know about my grandfather.

At other forums of WW2, they tell me that he could be at the luftwaffe 19.Flakbrigade.
I am trying everything I can, and have contacted many forums!

Where did this take place, in Scheveningen? Have you tried to contact old friends of your grandmother, or neighbours, other family members? Any information would be helpful.

My grandmother en grandfather met each other in Voorburg/DenHaag, where my grandmother lives.
Some told me, my grandfather could be in Scheveningen, or Voorschoten where his regiment stays.
Yes I have ask many old people about my grandfather, but no one knows much, my grandmothers parents kept it a secret for the whole neighbourhood.
No there are no letters left, only his photo and something written on the back of the photo, but that was personal to my grandmother and has no fieldnumber or anything that could help.
He signed the date, Voorburg, den 29.VI.1944!

What did the Wast exactly say? Where they unable to help because the birth date is missing?

Yes I will ask again, as a matter of fact, I have ask it just last week, but who knows, maybe something new come up, as they think about the story.
The WASt, sent my a letter, that there are to many Haacks, to give a me the right one.
My search starts in 2006, and at that time I had only a name.
I always thought my grandfathers name was Heinrich Gerhard Haack, but at the back of the photo he signed Gerhard!
A date of birth is very important for the right Haack.
As they say, he was the same age like my grandmother and she was born in the year 1924.

Scheint mir ein wenig zu jung zu sein für Geburtsjahr 1924, dann wäre er auf dem Bild 81 Jahre alt. Die Hochzeit der beiden war 1955.
